My name is Herb Speer (As you've probably already guessed). My passion for photography started at a young age. In fact, my grandfather was a wedding photographer in Pittsburgh, and some of my earliest memories are of spending time with him in his home darkroom. I like to think that I’m carrying on our family tradition.

I love photography in general because of its ability to place the viewer in a particular time and space. I chose to focus on wedding and engagement photography because I love the idea that in creating these images, I’m creating material, tangible expressions of love. I’m honored that so many couples have allowed me to be a part of these milestone moments. One of my favorite parts of my job is the process of translating my clients’ visions into beautiful images.

Now for a little about me. I am a former Marine, and I’m currently in the Army Reserves. I'm currently enrolled in the New York Institute of Photography. I recently got married myself. We don’t have any kids (yet), but our two cats and dachshund are usually my first models whenever I get a new lens, camera body, or other photography gear. My wife and I are certified scuba divers.
